TUBER sinensis/indicum/ himalaensis
These varieties originating from China, also called
China truffles, partly resemble the valuable Périgord truffle with increasing maturity. In smell and taste, however, they are extremely reserved. They are particularly suitable for use in the food industry and in combination with flavoured truffle products as a low-cost alternative to European truffle varieties. They are usually available from the end of August to mid-March.
