TUBER oligospermum

In addition to the well-known and more noble truffles, there are many other truffle varieties in many countries and continents, but these are often of no commercial importance or even protected. This does not apply to desert truffles („terfezia“). It grows in North Africa from February to April and is often mistakenly sold as a Bianchetto truffle, although it only costs about 1/10 of that. Its smell and taste are very restrained, which is why it is often used in combination with flavoured truffle oil.
